Our Fabrics
At Daesous, we are committed to only using fabrics that are derived from natural resources that have not undergone extensive or excessive processing.
We focus on three main materials which you will see throughout the abayas and modest clothing we offer.
These are
Tencel:
Tencel is a sustainable fabric made from wood pulp, primarily sourced from eucalyptus, beech, or spruce trees. It's produced using an eco-friendly, closed-loop process that recycles water and solvents. Known for its softness, breathability, and moisture-wicking properties, Tencel is commonly used in clothing, bedding, and activewear. It’s also biodegradable and gentle on sensitive skin.
Cotton:
Cotton is a natural fiber derived from the seed hairs of the cotton plant. It's soft, breathable, and highly absorbent, making it one of the most widely used textiles in the world. Cotton is commonly used in clothing, bedding, and household fabrics due to its comfort and durability.
Linen:
Linen is a natural fiber made from the flax plant. It's strong, breathable, and highly absorbent, making it ideal for warm-weather clothing and home textiles. Linen has a crisp texture and a slightly rough feel that softens over time. It's also valued for its durability and eco-friendly production.
Many times, we will use a combination of these fabrics as they each have excellent properties that shine even more when blended, to craft the perfect soft, breathable and moisture wicking fabric for your abaya and modest clothing.
Where do we stand on Polyester?
At Daesous, we understand that polyester can have its many uses. However, due to the environmental and hormonal harm that comes from polyester, we feel that the cons outweigh the pros and will not be using it as part of any of our lines. We believe in natural, breathe, biodegradable fabrics!
